What’s the difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy?

There are several options within the bankruptcy codes. Each area of the code, called “chapters,” covers a different set of circumstances. At Brzustowicz and Marotta we are well-versed in the bankruptcy code and work with each client to identify the best option for their unique situation.

Isn’t it better to use a debt-reduction service?

There are many debt counseling services that may be of help. But, firms that promise to reduce or eliminate debts may not be a viable option. In fact, there are at least five reasons why going to a debt-reduction service may be a costly mistake.

How can I schedule a meeting with an attorney at Brzustowicz and Marotta when I work and have family responsibilities during the day?

We understand that not everyone can meet during the work day. That’s why we schedule evening and Saturday appointments with our clients, including setting up initial consultations.

Do I really need a will?

Every person should have a will. It’s the way that you can make your wishes known about what happens to your estate – the things that you own – and dozens of other issues, like naming a guardian for your minor children. If you don’t have an estate plan, the courts will have one for you – and you probably wouldn’t like it.

I have a will. Is that all I need to do?

At Brzustowicz and Marotta we advise our clients to review and update their will, also known as a Last Will and Testament, to make sure that the document reflects any changes in their lives (i.e., marriage, divorce, grandchildren). And, we work proactively with our clients in developing related documents, such as Power of Attorney and Living Wills.

I’ve having a major business disagreement with another person that doesn’t seem to be getting any better. What are my options?

The law can help protect your rights. Mediation and negotiation are options; sometimes litigation is inevitable. Not every potential lawsuit ends up in court, but if litigation is the best avenue our firm is prepared, experienced, and ready to work tirelessly on your behalf.
